Leaving a Legacy
The following scholarships were established during the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
The Cloud 9 Marketing Group Scholarship
This annual scholarship was established by Dylan Pilon ’12. Dylan is the founder and owner of Cloud 9 Marketing, a digital marketing agency located in East Longmeadow, MA. A business major at HCC, Dylan stays connected to his alma mater as an annual donor and through speaking engagements with current business students. He remembers the struggles of balancing class with work and is passionate about making college accessible for students. The Cloud 9 Marketing Group Scholarship gives preference to marketing students who have a gpa of 3.0 or higher.
The George Frost and Ellen Lynch Memorial Scholarship
As members of the Holyoke Junior College Reunion planning committee met over several months leading up to the reunion, their discussion drifted into fond memories of their days as students in the old building on Sargeant Street. What was most striking, was the enduring influence of the college’s only two administrators: President George Frost and his secretary Ellen Lynch. They made sure classrooms were clean, well-lit, heated, open during hours that the working students would be available, and everything else that made an education possible for the young people of Holyoke. Dr. Frost and Ms. Lynch espoused the values of trust, inclusion, kindness, collaboration, and innovation. The purpose of the George Frost and Ellen Lynch Memorial Scholarship is to promote these values and break down barriers for students, to help ensure that anyone who wants access to higher education can have it.
We thank members of the Frost Society for their vision in naming the HCC Foundation in their estate plans through a will, trust, retirement plan, life insurance policy, or life-income gift. Their thoughtfulness will enable future HCC students to succeed and allow the college to Educate. Inspire. Connect. for generations to come.
